ABOUT ME

tele_back-removebg-preview.png

My name is Curt Desrosiers. With an extensive background spanning various law enforcement roles, I bring a wealth of real-world experience to the entertainment industry.

My journey includes serving as a correctional officer, sheriff's deputy, police officer, diplomatic protection team leader, and acting detachment commander in Kabul, Afghanistan. I have also worked as a counterintelligence investigator, use of force, tactics, and firearms instructor, along with managing security for Canada's largest development project in Kandahar, Afghanistan. After confronting criminal elements within the project, I was targeted for kidnapping and, after an armed stand off, escaped from the aggressor's compound.

My expertise and firsthand knowledge make me uniquely qualified to consult on firearms training, safety, and scene accuracy for film and television productions. This experience also resulted in a vast network of world class operators available for specialized tasks.

LET’S KEEP EVERYONE SAFE

tele_back-removebg-preview.png

Firearm safety and strict adherence to set procedures is non negotiable. Recent events on the set of "Rust" have again reminded us of the dangers of firearms and injury or loss of life is always preventable.

There are no "accidental discharges", only negligent ones.

When R2R consultants are on set, the safety protocol will be followed to the letter. We insist all talent and crew, personnel from both sides of the line, be trained in safe handling and adhere to these procedures at all times. The sanitization of set, equipment, and personnel and the strict control of all firearms is paramount. Firearms will be issued for supervised training and scenes only.

R2R applies the SAFE ON SET protocol.

MANAGING EMOTION

Handling a firearm for the first time can evoke a wide range of emotions and reactions, varying from person to person. One must recognize and manage these emotions. Common emotions and experiences that individuals may feel when they first hold a firearm include excitement, nervousness, respect, awe, focus, responsibility, curiosity, apprehension, empowerment and anxiety.

It's important to remember that the emotions associated with handling a firearm for the first time can be complex and may evolve as individuals gain more experience and knowledge.

These emotions also highlight the importance of proper training and education to ensure safe and responsible firearm use.
